Overview

Paul de Bernier serves as co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Corporate & Securities practice.

Paul is active across a range of industries and transactions, including technology, , food & beverage, chemicals, infrastructure/energy and healthcare.

Paul’s practice focuses on M&A, capital markets and other corporate transactions, including joint ventures, private equity, venture capital and restructuring. He regularly advises on US and international commercial contracts. He also advises management and boards on corporate governance and regulatory matters.

Paul spent a number of years as a partner in Mayer Brown’s London office, where he led the US corporate and securities group. Ranked as a key individual, Paul’s recognitions in Chambers and Legal 500 have included: “highly knowledgeable, gives practical advice and delivers excellent client service”; “excels in tough negotiations”; “top quality lawyer, insightful and responsive”; “great reputation”; and “excellent, remarkable service and superb quality”. He was also selected as a “Top 100” lawyer by the LA Business Journal.

Paul’s experience includes cross-border transactions and advising clients with international operations, including Asian, European and other non-US clients making acquisitions, minority investments or set-up/greenfield operations in the US.

He is also co-chair of our India practice and a member of our ESG practice.

Paul has lived for extensive periods in India, the UK and the US and is fluent in Hindi and conversant in French.
