Mayer Brown continues to bolster private equity strength with appointment of Tessa Agar

London – Mayer Brown announced today that Tessa Agar will be joining the firm as a partner in its Corporate and Private Equity groups in London, further growing the firm's private equity offering.

With significant experience in growth equity work, advising private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on complex cross-border and domestic acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and follow-on financings, Tessa works with a diverse range of clients spanning the technology, software, healthcare, telecommunications, financial services, food, and consumer products industries.

James West, head of Mayer Brown’s London Private Equity practice, said: "Tessa’s arrival marks another important milestone in our strategy to grow our mid-market private equity practice in London, which will also see Mark Evans join us. Tessa’s hire follows the news Private Equity partner Mark Evans is expected to join the firm in London, and continues the bolstering of Mayer Brown’s Private Capital offering, which has welcomed Leveraged Finance partners David Miles and Philip Butler and Structured Finance partners Chris McGarry and Adam Farrell in London, as well as Private Equity partners Dr. Octávio de Sousa and Nikolai Sokolov in Frankfurt thus far in 2025. Tessa joins from Goodwin.
