The 2020 edition of World Trademark Review (WTR) 1000 recognized six lawyers in Mayer Brown’s global Intellectual Property practice and awarded the firm top-tier rankings in Hong Kong SAR in the Enforcement & Litigation and Prosecution & Strategy categories. The guide also ranked Mayer Brown in Germany and the United States (Illinois), as well as in the “International” category.
The six lawyers from Mayer Brown and Tauil & Chequer (T&C) in association with Mayer Brown who were recognized in four jurisdictions for their capabilities and contributions include:
- Michael Adams and Richard Assmus (both United States: Illinois);
- Gabriela Kennedy (Hong Kong);
- Cristiane Manzueto (Brazil); and
- Konstantin von Werder and Ulrich Worm (both Germany).
WTR 1000 awarded Mr. Adams, a co-leader of the firm’s Global Brand Management & Internet practice, a top-tier ranking in prosecution and strategy. According to the publication, he is a “natural leader” who solves business problems and puts his clients’ interests first. In addition, WTR 1000 described Mr. Assmus as an “exceptionally smart, hard-working and pragmatic lawyer.”
Ms. Kennedy, who leads the firm’s Asia IP and TMT group and co-leads the global IP practice, was ranked as one of the top individuals in enforcement and litigation. The publication highlighted her broad client base, which includes multinationals, technology start-ups and universities.
The publication highlighted Ms. Manzueto’s efforts in developing T&C’s IP practice and described her as “a portfolio management maven who effectively handles top IP dossiers.”
Finally, WTR 1000 noted that Mr. Werder and Mr. Worm provide holistic support to clients with work spanning more than 180 countries, including overseeing as well as protecting more than 1,600 marks.
