Issues at the intersection of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence continue to be priorities for policymakers and businesses around the globe. The Trump Administration’s recent AI Action Plan, for example, addressed key questions relating to the security of AI, the use of AI by malicious cyber actors, and the use of AI to defend networks. Other global policymakers have repeatedly taken on these important issues, as have numerous leading businesses and think tanks. In short, cybersecurity is widely viewed as both a key source of risk and an area of opportunity for AI.
