Mayer Brown advises leading private equity firm TriSpan on investment in Mowgli Street Food Group

London — Mayer Brown's London Private Equity team has advised TriSpan, a global private equity firm, on its investment in Mowgli Street Food Group (“Mowgli”), through TriSpan’s dedicated restaurant programme, Rising Stars. Mowgli Street Food Group Limited is the leading Indian casual dining restaurant group in the UK, with 15 sites nationally.  

The team was led by Private Equity partner Paul Rosen, and involved Erin Brayshaw, Tim Baines, Valerie Vanryckeghem, Stuart Brinkworth, Simon Rose, Alice Miller, James Beattie, Ellen Hepworth, James Perrott, Kirsten Hunt, Olivia Lucas, Tanaz Nowrouzzadeh, Kirsty McLeish, Kirstin Swanepoel and Emma Wayland.

Mowgli’s founder and management have maintained a significant interest in the company with Nisha Katona MBE, the founder, continuing to lead the group as CEO in its next phase of growth, supported by TriSpan and the board. Matthew Peck and Lucy Worth will continue in their roles as CFO and COO respectively.

The deal is TriSpan’s tenth restaurant investment globally, and its fourth in the UK, following previous UK investments in Pho, Rosa’s Thai Café, and Thunderbird Fried Chicken. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
