Overview
Lorenz Taets advises a wide range of clients, including major public and private companies, private equity firms and investors across multiple industries on a number of complex public and private, domestic and cross-border transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, sales and divestitures; joint ventures; corporate governance and general corporate matters; and real estate transactions. He has also recently dealt with shareholder activism, takeover defense strategies and insurance M&A and has helped numerous pro bono clients. Before joining Mayer Brown, Lorenz worked at the Brussels office of another prominent international law firm.
Experience
- Acted for Listen Technologies Corporation, a provider of assistive listening, multi-language audio transmission and live streaming audio solutions, in its sale to Systematic Growth, a Swedish private equity firm.
- Acted for one of the largest communications and video services providers in the United States in the acquisition of an emerging global marketing services network.
- Advised a global asset manager on internal reorganization of its global data center portfolio company.
- Acted for Marubeni America Corporation in its acquisition of Automotive Parts & Services Holdings, an online distributor of automotive repair parts and provider of vehicle inspection services to insurance companies.
- Advised a major bank for over six months as part of a long-term compliance project.
- Acted for RTC Partners in its strategic growth investments in four industry-leading, North America-based marketing sales services firms.
- Advised the shareholders of an industry-leading wastewater treatment solutions company on its corporate reorganization.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Lorenz’ representative matters included advising American Industrial Partners, Astellas, Electrical Industries Company, International Automotive Components Group, PTT Global Chemical, STERIS, The Riverside Company, and TransDigm Group.
