Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs

Share
Shout-out to a Mayer Brown team that helped secure a win this week for the Big Ten Conference in a lawsuit brought by 16 former college basketball players, including former Kansas guard Mario Chalmers, over the alleged unauthorized use of their name, image, and likeness. U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer in Manhattan dismissed the case, finding that the players’ claims—dating back to before June 15, 2016—were time-barred under the Sherman Act’s four-year statute of limitations. The Mayer Brown team representing the Big Ten included partners Britt Miller and Daniel Fenske and counsel Gina Del Tatto.
