Mayer Brown obtained a significant trial win on behalf of Pantech Corporation and Pantech Wireless, LLC against OnePlus Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. in the Eastern District of Texas in a patent infringement suit, Pantech Corp. et al. v. OnePlus Technology (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd.

After a week-long trial, on March 29, 2024, the jury found that OnePlus willfully infringed five of Pantech’s patents related to wireless communication and user interface technologies used in OnePlus’s smartphones and held that the patents were valid.

Mayer Brown’s trial team not only proved infringement and validity, but also highlighted the history of the parties’ negotiations to show that OnePlus was an unwilling licensee. The jury awarded Pantech substantial damages for OnePlus's infringement.

The trial team was led by partner Tripp Fussell and included partner Gray Buccigross, counsel Tiffany Miller, and associates Clark Bakewell and Courtney Krawice.
