Paris — Mayer Brown announces the arrival of Edouard Gergondet as Counsel in the Compliance, Investigations & Regulatory team of Mayer Brown’s Paris office.

“Edouard trained with the best in the profession and a number of major French companies are already trusting his advice”, comments Jean-Philippe Lambert, Paris office Managing Partner. “I am convinced that he will develop a leading compliance practice in Paris.”

Admitted to the Paris* and Brussels Bars, Edouard Gergondet advises and assists companies in the industrial, financial, technology and retail sectors, both in France and internationally, in drawing up, implementing, monitoring and improving their compliance programmes (anti-corruption, sanctions, export control, anti-money laundering). In addition, he has cross-sector experience in risk assessment, due diligence, transactional matters, contract audits and internal compliance investigations, as well as in assisting clients before the relevant authorities on these subjects.

“Compliance in the broad sense, is keeping our clients busy”, adds Nathalie Jalabert-Doury, Antitrust & Competition Partner “and we are assisting them by combining key skills, whether in sanctions,  antitrust or anti-corruption, setting up compliance programmes, assisting them in  investigations and in subsequent legal actions”. This multidisciplinary group comprises two partners, two counsels and around ten associates in Paris. It also combines strengths within one of the leading groups of practitioners in these fields in London, Brussels, the United States and beyond.
