Übersicht
Jonny Cohen represents clients in a variety of corporate and commercial contexts, across a number of different industry sectors, including technology, energy, financial services, manufacturing, shipping, and food and beverage, on both litigation and arbitration matters – often with a multi-jurisdictional element.
Jonny has particular expertise in product liability and product safety matters. He regularly advises manufacturers, distributors, and retailers on the full spectrum of product liability claims, including those arising from alleged design defects, manufacturing defects, and failures to warn. His experience spans both individual claims and complex multi-party disputes, and he has acted for clients across a range of sectors, including consumer goods, food and beverage, technology, and industrial equipment.
Jonny also advises on product safety compliance and regulatory matters, including liaising with regulators in connection with product safety investigations, enforcement actions, and recalls. He works closely with clients to develop recall strategies and manage reputational risk, and has experience advising on cross-border recalls involving coordination with regulators in multiple jurisdictions.
In addition to his product liability expertise, Jonny also advises clients on IT and outsourcing disputes, supply chain disputes, post-acquisition disputes, shareholder and JV disputes, and claims relating to force majeure. He has extensive experience of managing disputes from the pre-action stage through to the substantive hearing and appeal, both in the English courts as well as arbitration under the LCIA, ICC and UNCITRAL Rules.
Jonny is a member of Mayer Brown's London office's AI Think Tank, and has a particular interest in emerging product liability issues arising from AI-enabled products and software-related defects.
