Mayer Brown Advises Omni Partners and Infoshare+ on Acquisition of DEF Software
London – Mayer Brown has advised Omni Partners and Infoshare+, Omni’s public sector-focused software and data solutions platform, on the acquisition of DEF Software Limited, a leading software provider for the UK local authority market.
The transaction marks the ninth strategic acquisition for Infoshare+ since its launch in October 2024.
With a 30-year heritage, DEF is a trusted partner to more than 60 local authorities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, representing an estimated 15% market share in its core verticals. DEF's flagship MasterGov product suite enables an integrated workflow solution designed to improve planning processes and land-use functions in local authorities, supporting core statutory processes and seamless cross-department collaboration.
The acquisition significantly enhances Infoshare+'s capabilities by broadening the platform's reach into infrastructure, housing and asset management and substantially expands its footprint in Northern Ireland. The continued expansion of Infoshare+ reflects Omni's strategy of building a scaled and integrated software platform for the UK public sector, characterised by strong recurring revenues, compelling margins and enduring client partnerships.
The Mayer Brown team was led by Private Equity partner Jessica Kolhorn and included senior associate James Beattie, associate Alex Bicknell-Cummins and trainee Ji Woo Won; Antitrust & Competition partner Daniel Vowden and senior associate Elisabetta Rotondo; Banking & Finance senior associate Bridget Polkinghorne and associate Sophie Courtney; Employment & Benefits partners Christopher Fisher and Andrew Block and associate Sujina Khatun; Intellectual Property partner Oliver Yaros, associate Rebecca Keay and solicitor apprentice Cyril Lekgetho; Real Estate partner Iain Roberts; and Tax partner James Hill and senior associate Tamar Ruiz.
