London — Neil Hamilton, a leading securitization and regulatory lawyer, has been appointed as a partner in Mayer Brown's Banking & Finance practice in London.

"I am delighted to welcome Neil as a partner in our structured finance team in London," said Dominic Griffiths, Mayer Brown's London managing partner. "He is an impressive lawyer, with considerable experience across a broad spectrum of securitization asset classes, which will complement and further the growth of our practice. In addition, Neil has valuable experience advising clients on securitization regulation, which makes Mayer Brown one of only a few firms with dedicated partner level support in this area."

Neil is a veteran lawyer with more than 25 years' experience in a variety of securitization and structured finance asset classes. Recognized as a leading lawyer in both areas, he represents arrangers, originators, managers, servicers and trustees in RMBS, CMBS, CLOs, auto loans and leases, consumer loans, trade receivables, and structured products, such as repackagings and structured notes. Neil's practice also includes advising on securitization regulation.

“Mayer Brown is one of the leading law firms for securitization, structured finance and derivatives," said Neil. "As a partner in the practice, I look forward to working with colleagues in London and around the world to shape and further the future success of the practice.”

Neil's appointment follows the January additions of capital markets partner Peter Pears from Clifford Chance and securitization and structured finance counsel Jake Lindsay from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.
