Mayer Brown announced that Nicolette Kost de Sèvres (Paris/Washington DC), leader of the firm’s Compliance, Regulatory and Investigations team in Paris, has been named to Global Investigations Review’s (GIR) list of 2021 Women in Investigations, which highlights 100 exceptional women in the white-collar world.

Ms. Kost de Sèvres has extensive experience in anti-corruption and anti-money laundering compliance, risk management and global investigation matters. She also represents financial institutions and companies in matters involving compliance, business ethics, regulatory obligations and financial crime, among others.

Additionally, Ms. Kost de Sèvres has more than two decades of experience as a lawyer in the corporate and financial regulatory sectors in London, Paris, Sydney, Washington DC and Montreal.

“With each new environment comes a new culture and an obligation to adapt to the social and professional nuances of the new place,” Ms. Kost De Sèvres told GIR. “Being admitted to numerous bars across the world, while challenging, gives you a unique perspective to find creative and practical solutions for clients. Additionally, blazing a trail as a woman and as a working mother and military spouse requires confidence, resilience and belief in self.”

She also has several years of in-house experience, including service as special senior counsel in the New York Stock Exchange's Euronext Paris office and as special senior counsel at the Royal Bank of Scotland in London, where she advised on regulatory reforms and the implementation of new regulatory requirements. She is the author of a book on international economic law and a senior lecturer in compliance and financial regulation.

GIR is a service analyzing the law and practice of international investigations. 2021 honorees were selected following an open nomination process. View the complete list here.
