Residential, Office and Retail Developers. We advised developer clients across the globe on wide variety of documents an agreements used in the development process including reciprocal easement agreements, owner's association documents, restrictive covenants, utility agreements, recapture agreements and subdivision agreements (including vertical subdivision or "air rights" agreements).

Owners and Developers in Land Use. We regularly represent owners and developers with respect to agreements with government authorities such as redevelopment agreements, annexation agreements, planned unit development agreements, and agreements respecting development, dedication and use of infrastructure including roads and utilities. We also advise on funding and incentives available for development including tax increment financing, special service areas, tax rebate agreements, enterprise zones, and special real estate tax classifications.

Corporate Buildings. We have represented a number of major U.S. and international corporations in land assembly, zoning entitlements, incentives and construction and development agreements for headquarters or regional office building campus developments ranging in size from 250,000 to over 1,000,000 sq.ft.

Sports Stadiums. We have represented stadium authorities, sports team ownership and other parties in development and construction agreements for sports and multiuse stadiums including stadiums for Major League Baseball, the National Football League, Major League Soccer, and various other sports users.

Master Plan Mixed-Use Developments. We have represented the master developer and end-users in zoning entitlements, development agreements and parcel sale programs in large mixed-use developments including the "Cantera" development in the Chicago suburbs where we participated in development of over 6 million square feet of improvements, including a number of corporate and speculative office buildings, hotels, big box retail, strip retail, a megaplex movie theater, light industrial uses, medical uses, residential uses and other uses.

Institutional Uses. We have represented a number of hospital groups and universities in the development of medical and university buildings and the redevelopment and expansion of medical and educational campuses.

Land Use Litigation. We have represented national wind farm developers in parcel (lease) assembly, development agreements and incentives, and we have successfully defeated litigation challenging wind farm project approvals.  We have one of the United States leading appellate land use litigation practices, including participation in leading takings, wetland and other land use issues before the U.S. Supreme Court and other appellate courts.
