Kevin C. McDonald

Kevin McDonald serves clients on complex commercial finance transactions. He represents financing institutions as well as businesses obtaining financing, in both domestic US and cross-border markets. Kevin advises clients on the structuring, negotiation, documentation, closing of transactions, workouts, and restructurings. 

Kevin is experienced in commercial lending, structured finance, leasing, letters of credit, project finance and acquisition financing, involving assets of many different types.

Represented:

• Major commercial credit organization as purchaser in the securitization of trade receivables of a multinational producer of films for packaging and technical applications.
• Agent in a $450 million syndicated multicurrency credit agreement for a major materials/equipment distribution business.
• Agent in a $100 million-plus syndicated multicurrency credit agreement for a snack foods producer and its Canadian subsidiary.
• City of Chicago in the Orange Line (mass transit line) lease transaction.
• Chicago Transit Authority in the $160 million-plus Qualified Technology Equipment (QTE) lease financing.
• Equity investors and lessees in large ticket equipment and facility lease transactions involving assets in Austria, Canada, Norway, Germany, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United States.
• Agent in a $180 million-plus securitization of receivables of a relocation services business.
• Major international bank as agent in a $150 million-plus US dollar/Mexican peso syndicated credit agreement for a major Mexican telecommunications company.
• Major international bank as agent in a $200 million syndicated credit for a major Peruvian telecommunications company.
• Sears Roebuck Acceptance Corp. as borrower under $2 billion credit facility.
• Major international beverage company in the sale of a $340 million-plus securitization of fast food restaurant franchisee loans.
• Alliance Pipeline (a natural gas pipeline from British Columbia to Illinois) as US counsel in a $2.6 billion project financing in 1998 and subsequent refinancings.
