Giovanna Bakaj is an associate in the Finance and Banking practice of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown in the São Paulo office. Giovanna focuses on corporate finance transactions and finance products in general, representing national and multinational companies, multilateral organizations, financial institutions, institutional lenders and sponsors in project finance (energy and infrastructure), debt transactions in capital markets, syndicated loans and debts restructuring.
Prior to joining the firm, Giovanna was a lawyer at a boutique law firm in the white collar practice, an intern at the Competition Authority (CADE) and an intern in the litigation practice of another prominent firm.

- Advised Itaú BBA in the issuance of debentures in the total amount of R$ 220 million for financing a wind project named Ventos de São Vitor, located in the State of Bahia;
- Advised Bradesco and BTG in the structure of a guarantee package for developing wind farm projects financed by Banco do Nordeste do Brasil in the State of Pernambuco;
- Advised Santander in the issuance of debentures in the total amount of R$ 100 million by a company in the sanitation sector.
