Singapore Chemical Industry Roundtable 2026: AI, EU/Brazil Regulations and the Impact of Middle East Conflict on the Chemicals Sector
登记Mayer Brown's Global Chemicals Industry Group is pleased to host the Singapore Chemical Industry Roundtable 2026, bringing together international lawyers and industry professionals to discuss legal and regulatory issues shaping the sector today.
The programme will open with a session on the adoption of AI in the chemical industry, led by Amita Haylock, examining the legal implications of AI and emerging cyber risks for companies in this sector. This segment will be followed by an update on chemical regulations in the EU and Brazil, presented by Jean-Philippe Montfort and Luiz Gustavo Bezerra.
The roundtable will conclude with a panel discussion on supply chain risks and the far-reaching impact of the Middle East conflict on chemical companies. Drawing on the perspectives of Mayer Brown lawyers across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Latin America, the panel will address key legal themes including supply chain disruption and contractual risks, insurance and risk allocation, sanctions and secondary sanctions exposure, and M&A considerations. Moderated by Singapore-based Mayer Brown partner, Justin Tan, with panellists Jean-Philippe Montfort, Jad Taha, Joanne Du and Luiz Gustavo Bezerra, the discussion will offer practical insights on how companies in the chemicals sector can navigate the evolving legal landscape, manage cross-border risks and maintain compliance in an increasingly complex geopolitical environment.
The event will be followed by a casual lunch, providing an opportunity for further discussion and networking.
