Tauil & Chequer Advogados advises ENGIE on the acquisition of Atlas Renewable Energy's solar portfolio

Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown advised ENGIE Brasil on the acquisition of Atlas Energia Renovável do Brasil S.A. and Atlas Brasil Energia Holding 2 S.A., controlled by Global Infrastructure Partners – GIP, owner of Photovoltaic Complexes Juazeiro (BA), São Pedro (BA), Sol do Futuro (CE), Sertão Solar (BA) and Lar do Sol (MG). The projects are operational, with free and regulated market power purchase agreements, and a total installed capacity of 545MWac.

The total acquisition value will be, approximately, R$ 3,24 billion, considering the purchase price and Atlas' net debt. This is the largest M&A transaction in Brazilian power industry and Latin America's largest renewable energy deal this year, as well as an important milestone in the ENGIE Group's growth in the renewable energy industry in Brazil.
