Luiz Gustavo Bezerra helps countless clients across the infrastructure, energy, chemical, mining, real estate, forest, agribusiness and food industries. His vast experience in Environmental, Climate Change and ESG matters, particularly in Brazil, but also in other jurisdictions, with emphasis on Latin America and Europe (he is also qualified in Portugal) gives him a unique edge in litigation, consulting and transactional (M&A) matters. Luiz has a well-known track record in court and administrative environmental proceedings, and counsels major Brazilian and multinational groups in a vast range of environmental related matters, including: crisis management, climate change, sustainability, corporate reporting and corporate environmental and social responsibility, human rights, indigenous communities, waste laws and circular economy arrangements, water laws, biodiversity, environmental offsets, law and economics, carbon markets. Clients served by Luiz include: major Brazilian and multinational groups in complex environmental litigation, as well as in negotiations (and other alternative dispute resolution methods) with governmental authorities, public prosecutors and other stakeholders, assisting on transactions and structuring sustainable businesses, and consultation on this wide range of topics.
