Overview

Massimo Amoruso has over 15 years’ experience advising on major investments in energy, petrochemicals, infrastructure and telecoms projects across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He has considerable experience across the entire energy value chain, including emerging areas such as battery manufacturing.

Massimo has represented major corporates, financial sponsors, trading houses, banks and export credit agencies in relation to some of their most complex and high-profile projects globally. He also has in-depth knowledge of complex multi-sourced project financings involving large syndicates of ECAs and commercial banks. Massimo has also advised clients on the full lifecycle of projects and infrastructure, from initial development and financing through to acquisitions and restructurings.

Energy Transition

  • Advised the ECAs (Bpifrance, Euler Hermes and SACE) and the lenders on the €4.4b project financing for European auto battery manufacturer ACC, co-owned by Stellantis, Mercedes and a French multinational integrated energy and petroleum company*
  • Advised a Japanese investor on a green steel joint venture in Western Europe*
  • Advised Solvay on multiple joint ventures for EV battery materials and recycling*
  • Advised KfW on the proposed financing of the Northvolt Zwei Salzgitter EV battery gigafactory*
