A Mayer Brown trial team led by partners Alex Lakatos, Brantley Webb, John Nadolenco and Nancy Ross beat back an ERISA class action facing the Wood Group. After a nine-day bench trial, Senior U.S. District Judge James Selna in Santa Ana, California, last week sided with the Scottish manufacturing conglomerate and its co-defendant, investment manager flexPATH Strategies represented by a team led by Matt Laroche and Sean Murphy of Milbank and Ian Morrison of Seyfarth Shaw. The judge found that neither defendant breached ERISA fiduciary duties by selecting or failing to remove certain “target-date funds” in the company’s 401(k) plans. The Mayer Brown team included associates Will Sinnott and Elaine Liu. Counsel for flexPATH also included Joshua Rodine and Jules Levenson of Seyfarth and Lucy Baeurle and Davis Campbell of Milbank.
