Tauil & Chequer Advogados advises Concessionária Rodovias do Café on a project financing of R$ 350 million

Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown advised Concessionária Rodovias do Café SPE S.A. on its project financing. The concessionaire is a SPV resulting from a joint venture between Equipav Rodovias (a company of the Equipav Group) and investment vehicles managed by Perfin. The financing was structured as the first debentures issue of the SPV and was also the group's first debentures issue under the terms of CVM Resolution 160, for a total amount of BRL 350 million.

Banco Itaú BBA S.A., Banco Bradesco BBI S.A. and Banco Santander (Brasil) S.A. were responsible for structuring the project financing and placing the debentures. The concession includes the dualling of approximately 8 km of the MGC-491 road between the municipalities of Varginha and Três Corações in Minas Gerais, the construction of approximately 30 km of additional lanes and the addition of 236 km of shoulders. The project also includes the implementation of various intersection devices. Notably, the group had already secured victories in the first two highway auctions in Minas last year, whose project finance we have also advised, which were successfully concluded at the beginning of this year.
