Paris - Mayer Brown assisted Intermarché in the challenge of the antitrust inspections carried out by the European Commission at its premises in 2017.

Following the partial annulment previously obtained from the General Court, the Court of Justice of the European Union admitted Intermarché's appeal and annuled the relevant inspection decisions entirely.

This is the first case ever where the  European Court of Justice annulled entirely the inspection due to lack of sufficient grounds, which constitutes a fundamental guarantee of European Union law with regard to such investigations, which are particularly burdensome and intrusive for companies and individuals.

Mayer Brown assisted Intermarché with Nathalie Jalabert-Doury (partner), Jean-Maxime Blutel (partner) and Joffrey Gaucher (associate).
