Tauil & Chequer Advogados advises Ibitu Energia S.A. on the sale of a stake in Companhia Energética Chapecó S/A (CEC)

Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown advised Ibitu Energia S.A. in connection with the drafting, negotiation and execution of a share purchase agreement, including as sellers, the investment funds Astra Infraestrutura I (controller of Ibitu Energia S.A.) and BMPI Infra, and, as buyers, Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) and CSN Energia S.A. (controlled by CSN). In light of this deal, Astra Infraestrutura I and BMPI Infra intend to sell 100 percent of their equity interest (59 and 41 percent, respectively), held in Companhia Energética Chapecó S/A – CEC, holder of the grant, to explore the hydroelectric power plant Quebra-Queixo. The case was led by Infrastructure partner Bruno Werneck and associate Maria Isabel Amato, and included associate Grazielle Pereira.
