US fund managers are increasingly raising capital from both conventional and Shari’a-compliant investors in the Middle East. The opportunities to raise capital are enormous, with Mayer Brown’s Islamic Finance team having worked on mandates raising in excess of $1 billion in just the past few years.
But many US fund managers remain unsure how best to proceed in the Middle East and whether they can tap the Shari’a-compliant investment market.
