Antonin Sobek

Antonin Sobek focuses on international arbitration, representing clients in high-stakes construction, commercial and investment treaty disputes.

Before joining Mayer Brown, Antonin served as Counsel at the Dubai International Arbitration Centre and DIFC-LCIA Arbitration Centre, administering over 500 arbitration proceedings, and practiced at leading law firms in London and Paris.

A regular speaker at international conferences, he has lectured on dispute resolution at Sciences Po Paris, Sorbonne University and Izmir University of Economics. In 2025, he received the Craig Gibson Award for Young Disputes Professional of the Year.

Antonin speaks French, English, Spanish and Czech.

• The Kingdom of Bahrain in an ICC arbitration arising out of a USD 500 million waste-to-energy plant in Bahrain.*
• A contractor in a USD 60 million ICC arbitration against a developer concerning a mixed-use development project in Kuwait.
• A contractor in an ICC arbitration seated in Muscat arising out of a power plant subcontract.
• A contractor in Abu Dhabi-seated arbitration commenced by a subcontractor on a major airport project.
• A developer in a DIAC arbitration arising out of a mixed-use community project in Dubai.
• A contractor in a DIAC arbitration arising out of an oil field development project in Iraq.
• A developer in a DIAC arbitration arising out of a major residential real estate development project in Dubai.
