Julia Petsche is an associate in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office, where she represents corporate clients in complex litigation and regulatory matters. Her practice includes managing a broad portfolio of matters and advising clients on defense strategy and risk management aligned with business objectives.
Ms. Petsche has experience in products liability and mass tort litigation, as well as regulatory and disciplinary matters involving CPAs and audit firms before state boards of accountancy and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Her work includes fact development and internal investigations, drafting dispositive and procedural motions, retaining and working with experts, and deposing fact and corporate witnesses, including Rule 30(b)(6) representatives.
Ms. Petsche earned her Juris Doctor, with Honors, from the University of Chicago Law School. While in law school, she served as a student intern in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Clinic and as a research assistant focusing on children’s law and juvenile justice issues. She maintains an active pro bono practice and successfully argued a post-conviction motion that resulted in a substantial reduction of a client’s sentence.
