Jonathan Groves

Jonathan Groves represents lenders, borrowers and sponsors on a full range of domestic and cross-border acquisition and leveraged finance transactions, with a particular emphasis on private credit and direct lending transactions. He has experience working with UK and international clients on large-scale private equity-backed buyouts, corporate M&A, refinancings and recapitalisations across different levels of the debt capital structure.

Before joining Mayer Brown, Jonathan undertook a client secondment at one of the largest credit fund managers.

• Eurazeo on the financing for its acquisition of Water Direct, the UK's leading provider of alternative water supply solutions for utilities, businesses and the public sector. 
• Ares Management Limited on its refinancing of the Zero100 Group (a Levine Leichtman investment).*
• Ares Management Limited on its financing to support Equistone’s acquisition of the Nexus Vehicle Leasing Group.*
• Ares Management Limited on its financing to assist in the acquisition of the Inchcape Shipping Services Group by Epiris Private Equity.*
• A credit fund on the financing package for the acquisition of a UK-headquartered prosthetics and orthotics service by a UK-headquartered private equity sponsor.*
• A credit fund on the financing package of a UK-headquartered ophthalmology service to refinance its existing facilities and support its growth.*
• Ares Management Limited on the provision of a financing package for the MBO of AgriBriefing (a Horizon Capital Investment).*
• A leading international bank on the financing and refinancing of a global energy and resources group.*
