Andrew Gibb has extensive experience in advising sponsors and lenders on complex, large-scale multi-sourced financings and “first-of-a-kind” project developments throughout Asia, including in Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Lao PDR, Pakistan, Korea and Australia. His expertise spans a variety of sectors including renewable and conventional power, oil and gas, mining, and digital infrastructure.
Andrew has acted as lead advisor to sponsors, agency lenders and commercial lenders on numerous project finance transactions that have won deal of the year awards from leading industry publications. He is particularly known for his expertise in the South East Asia IPP market, and has advised on the majority of the internationally financed Indonesian IPPs during the last decade and a half.
He has been based in Singapore for over 14 years and before that practised in London and Sydney, also focusing on Energy & Infrastructure.

Andrew's experience prior to joining Mayer Brown includes advising:
- The lenders on the Monsoon Wind Power Project, the first Lao-Vietnam cross-border wind project and the largest wind project in Southeast Asia (the Asia-Pacific Wind Deal of the Year at the 2023 PFI Awards).
- The project company on the development and financing of the recent expansion of the Muara Laboh Geothermal Power Project.
- The sponsors on a proposed cross-border power importation project for the delivery of power to Singapore.
- The sponsors on the development and operation of a mixed metals mine in Vietnam.
- Lenders and sponsors on the development and financing of numerous power projects in Indonesia, including: the Muara Laboh, Rantau Dedap and Sarulla geothermal projects; the Hasang, Semangka and Wampu hydro projects; the Hijaunesia solar projects; the Riau CCGT project; and the Jawa 9+10, Cirebon Expansion, Central Java, Kalsel and Banten coal-fired projects.
