Mayer Brown partner Andrew Olmem named a 2021 “Trailblazer” by The American Lawyer

Mayer Brown announced that Washington DC Public Policy and Financial Services Regulatory and Enforcement partner Andrew Olmem was named to The American Lawyer’s list of 2021 “Trailblazers.” This list recognizes individuals who are agents of change in the legal industry.

Mr. Olmem’s practice focuses on complex financial services regulatory and legislative matters. Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Mr. Olmem served in the White House as the Deputy Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and the Deputy Director of the National Economic Council. He was previously the Republican Chief Counsel at the US Senate Banking Committee.

The American Lawyer highlighted the key role he played in the passage of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), landmark legislation that provided critical support to the US economy at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The CARES Act helped stabilize US financial markets and provided financial assistance to millions of small business and families impacted by the economic downturn caused by the pandemic.
