Mayer Brown’s Capital Markets and Financial Services Regulatory Team, this time featured by its Corporate M&A Team, cordially invites you to our 30-minute Know-How Webinars. Over the course of this series, we will report on the main 2026 developments relevant to capital markets, structured products, derivatives, and financial regulatory and M&A practitioners.

This webinar (Series No 24) will be held together with our M&A colleagues and focus on key items you should consider for M&A transactions (share deals and assets deals) as well as restructurings involving CRR Credit Institutions and (Mixed) Financial Holding Companies and give you a general update on the banking M&A developments.

New approval and notification requirements for transactions in the German banking sector are expected to come into force on April 1 as a result of the BRUBEG (Banking Directive Implementation and Bureaucracy Relief Act) passed by the German Bundestag on January 29, 2026. This is in transposition of the CRD VI Directive (EU) 2024/1619, which harmonizes the legal framework for M&A transactions in the banking sector in the EU. In our webinar, we will guide you through the most relevant legal and practical impacts of these important regulatory changes.
