Ambassador Fick brings a unique perspective as a technology entrepreneur and investor, diplomat, Marine, and acclaimed author. He served from 2022 to 2025 as the inaugural US Ambassador for Cyberspace & Digital Policy at the Department of State, leading American diplomacy around the world on technology issues including cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, digital regulatory policy, and emerging technologies. Prior to government service, he served as CEO of Endgame from 2012 through its acquisition by Elastic in 2019. Ambassador Fick started his career as a Marine Corps infantry and reconnaissance officer. His book, One Bullet Away, was a Washington Post "Best Book of the Year," and his unit’s experience in Iraq was the basis for the award-winning HBO miniseries “Generation Kill.”

Drawing on his experience leading US cyber diplomacy, as well as his leadership roles in the private sector, Ambassador Fick will share his insights on navigating cybersecurity across public and private sector roles, consistencies and changes in cybersecurity policy, and what the future holds for global organizations navigating digital risk.
