Virtual

Juneteenth Spoken Word Open Mic (June 19, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. EDT): Share your own original work or support artists during this online celebration of Juneteenth.

The Myth of Race: A Juneteenth Reflection on Power, History, and Difference (June 20, 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. EDT): The Racial Justice Collaboration allows viewers to dive into the origins and history of race and slavery in the United States.

Understanding Juneteenth: An Online Presentation 2026 (June 19, 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. PST): An online presentation of the documentary “Understanding Juneteenth” by Melaneyes Media, with discussion of Emancipation Day as a holiday and how it has been celebrated throughout the years here in the United States.

Charlotte

Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas (June 18 – 21): The Juneteenth Festival of The Carolinas celebrates the end of slavery, and the African American community is taking the opportunity to come together to reflect on and remember the historical event. 

Juneteenth at the Gantt (June 19, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.): Juneteenth at the Gantt is a day of reflection, creativity, education, and joy as we honor the enduring legacy of Juneteenth through art, music, storytelling, and shared experiences.

Juneteenth Art Fest (June 19, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.): The Juneteenth Art Fest is commemorating the national Juneteenth holiday in a powerful celebration of freedom, culture, and artistic expression for the Charlotte community.

Chicago

Emancipation Ball (June 18, 7:00 p.m.): The Emancipation Ball is a premier Juneteenth celebration of Black excellence, culture, community, creativity, and commerce.

Juneteenth Jubilee (June 19, 12:00 p.m.): Juneteenth Jubilee is a gathering rooted in art, music, games, and family history 

1865 Juneteenth Festival (June 19 – 20): The 1865 Juneteenth Festival is focused on community, culture, collaboration, and Chicago, providing experiences honoring Freedom Day.

The Chicago Juneteenth Parade (June 20, 11:00 a.m.): This community celebration honors Black history, culture, and freedom through a vibrant parade followed by a free community picnic.

The Juneteenth Comedy Festival: A Celebration of Black Comedians (June 20, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.): This is a vibrant comedy variety show showcasing some of Chicago's most exciting Black comedic talent through stand-up, improv, musical comedy, and more.

Houston

Juneteenth Houston: A guide on Juneteenth celebrations in Houston, featuring exhibits, performances, festivals, and other outdoor activities.

Children’s Museum Houston (June 18 – 19): This museum will be honoring Juneteenth with art exhibits, performances, activities, and more.

Emancipation Park Conservatory Juneteenth: The Reunion (June 19, 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.): Celebration honoring the legacy and spirit of Juneteenth in Emancipation Park with live entertainment featuring artists across genres.

Juneteenth: Voices of Freedom at The Bryan Museum (June 18, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.): This museum is hosting a curated poetry showcase honoring the legacy, resilience, and cultural impact of Black voices.

Los Angeles

Southern California Black Deaf Advocates Juneteenth Celebration (June 27, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.): Day of celebration for culture and fun with food, games, and music.

Juneteenth Celebration at the Aquarium of the Pacific (Long Beach, CA) (June 19, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.): Discover the traditions of this annual celebration through music, storytelling, and more.

LA County Department of Mental Health Juneteenth Celebration & Resource Fair (June 13, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.): Celebration with performance, activities, food, and art along with resources or expungement, health, and tenants/landlords.

Chance The Rapper Juneteenth Celebration at Hollywood Bowl (June 19, 6:30 p.m.): Family friendly event for music and culture to celebrate black excellence, freedom, and resilience.

New York

Juneteenth Celebration with Harlem Grown (June 20, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.): Harlem Grown’s Juneteenth Celebration is a farm party to honor Blackness and its cultural roots in Harlem. Come celebrate Juneteenth for family-friendly activities. This event will commemorate this day while we educate, empower, and elevate our community.

We Outside: A Brooklyn Juneteenth, Vol III (June 20, 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.): 651 ARTS’ Juneteenth Celebration is an annual commemoration of African American liberation, resilience, and self-determination featuring performances and community engagement activities that honor the brilliance and vitality of Black culture. Vibe to live music, dance, spoken word, and so much more as we celebrate freedom through individual expression.

Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth (June 19, 4:00p.m.): The Broadway League’s Black to Broadway Initiative presents the sixth annual Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth concert, a free outdoor event centered around Black artistry and community. The event will feature an all-Black Broadway cast performing Broadway musical numbers.

Juneteenth 2026 Events in New York: Juneteenth Events has compiled an expansive list of events from musical performances to comedy shows that will take place across NYC to commemorate Juneteenth.

Palo Alto

Los Altos Juneteenth Festival (June 20, 11:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.): Justice Vanguard presents their 7th Annual Juneteenth Festival. Join them for an afternoon full of art, music, food, fun drinks, and entertainment, both educational and amusing.

Juneteenth Open Mic Event (June 19, 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.): Explore the artistic side of Juneteenth celebrations with the High Society Events’ Open Mic Juneteenth Event.

Juneteenth Community Celebration, hosted at the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose (June 19, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.): Juneteenth celebration to feature drumming workshops and a “make your own percussion instrument” activity for kids.

Salt Lake City

2025 Utah Juneteenth Festival (June 20, 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.): Utah’s Juneteenth Freedom Festival is the state’s longest-running Juneteenth celebrations. The festival offers a multitude of activities for all ages.

Juneteenth at the U (June 17, 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.): Join The University of Utah’s Community & Cultural Engagement department for an educational community panel discussion, reflection, food, and collective remembrance in honor of Juneteenth.

Millcreek’s Annual Juneteenth Celebration (June 18, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.): Explore a festive celebration in your local shopping plaza full of amusing activities to celebrate Juneteenth.

San Francisco

San Francisco Black Film Festival (June 18 – 21): A festival celebrating African American cinema and showcasing films representing the diversity in the African diaspora.

San Francisco Juneteenth Parade and Festival (June 20, 11:00 a.m.): Join a flagship parade in the heart of the city that engages, inspires, and highlights unifying Black vibrancy, beginning on Market and Spear, proceeding west along Market to 8th Street.

Washington DC

National Museum of African American History and Culture Community Day  (June 19, 11:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.): The Smithsonian invites visitors of all ages to their community day including art making, a musical performance, story time for kids, and workshops.
