Pablo C. Ferrante is a partner in Mayer Brown’s Corporate & Securities practice with a focus on energy matters around the world. Pablo advises clients in structuring, negotiating and documenting global corporate and energy transactions, with a focus on Latin America. He has extensive experience representing oil and gas companies in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, exploration, drilling and production contracts, development projects and a variety of agreements.
He also has significant experience representing financial institutions and companies across a wide range of industries in cross-border financings and business transactions across Latin America, as well as advising companies on compliance with anti-corruption and embargo laws. Pablo was recently honored as a 'Energy Rising Star' by Law 360 for his work on some of the most innovative deals in the energy industry.

Represented Ecopetrol in the $700 million acquisition of Propilco, one of the largest petrochemical plants in Colombia.
Represented Omimex Resources in the $800 million sale of Omimex de Colombia to a consortium formed by Sinopec (China) and ONGC (India).
Represented lenders in loan transactions with borrowers located in Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Chile and other Latin American countries, including trade finance transactions guaranteed by the US Export-Import Bank.
Assisted a major international energy company in reviewing, drafting and negotiating farming, product sharing, joint operation, and joint study and bidding agreements concerning offshore blocks in Angola and Brazil.
Assisted Sonangol with corporate matters related to the Angola LNG Project.
Represented Ecopetrol in its expansion to Brazil, and in the review, negotiation and evaluation of oil and gas opportunities there.
Assisted a US-based company in negotiating engineering, procurement and construction agreements for an ethanol dehydration plant in Guatemala.
Negotiated trust and electricity purchase agreements with several major electric companies on behalf of the company that administers Argentina's electric wholesale market.
