Mayer Brown partners John Nadolenco and Tony Weibell named among Daily Journal’s “Leading Commercial Litigators” in California
Mayer Brown partners John Nadolenco and Tony Weibell were named to Daily Journal’s 2024 list of “Leading Commercial Litigators.” The annual series recognizes the “best attorneys working within the broad scope of commercial and bet-the-company litigation across the country.”
John serves as managing partner of Mayer Brown’s Los Angeles office and co-chair of the firm’s technology industry group. Daily Journal recognized him for recent litigation victories for Rostack Investments and Yale University. The cases were recognized not only for their financial stakes, but also for their unique legal challenges. Specifically, the Yale case was one of the few ERISA cases tried to a jury.
Tony, who recently joined the firm’s litigation practice as a partner in Northern California, was recognized for managing the transfer of 17 separate class actions against TikTok to a judge for consolidation under a prior class settlement. Daily Journal also highlighted his representation of Roblox Corporation in a case related to allegations that Roblox’s no-refund policy violated minors’ legal rights to disaffirm online purchases. Tony’s defense led to a dismissal of the action, resulting in a victory that set a precedent for gaming companies facing similar suits.
