Mayer Brown advised Waterfall Asset Management on a multifaceted corporate transaction that closed on January 20, 2023. A private equity vehicle managed by Waterfall, and Atalaya Capital Management led a strategic investment in OnPoint Warranty Solutions, a rapidly growing insurtech, mobile solutions and warranty services company.
The investments by Waterfall and Atalaya provide growth capital to OnPoint and supported the simultaneous acquisition of Guardian Protection Products, Inc., a technology-enhanced warranty administrator for premier furniture retailers. The transactions are designed to accelerate OnPoint’s strategic growth plans – among other things, by enhancing its mobile and warranty product innovation and expanding its proprietary insurance technology platform by integrating warranty administration technology developed by Guardian.
