分享

London Drawing on the insights of its global Derivatives team, Mayer Brown has today launched “The Long and Short of it”, a new blog providing comment and analysis on the latest legal and regulatory developments in derivative products.

The blog, co-edited by the firm’s global head of Derivatives Edmund Parker and senior associate Robyn Llewellyn, will use its global lens to cover everything from topical ISDA developments and the divergence between EU and UK derivatives regulation post-Brexit, derivatives regulatory capital issues, to US and Asia derivative regulatory developments and the implementation of global margin rules. Mayer Brown lawyers in Asia, Europe and the US will also make regular contributions. With content ranging from the detailed and technical to the practical and digestible, “The Long and Short of it will appeal to both product specialists and generalists.

Comment on the launch, Edmund Parker said: “We have a long tradition of thought leadership in our team: books, articles, videos, client alerts and seminars are frequent in output. This blog will bring that thought leadership together, with links to some of these activities.  The blog will also give us an opportunity to analyze and discuss derivatives events and issues as they happen.  We hope many of our clients and contacts will subscribe and provide their feedback.”

Mayer Brown’s team of derivatives lawyers combine to deliver both transactional and regulatory advice in Asia, Europe and the US. The team, described as having its “finger on the pulse” on key issues such as ISDA and new US regulatory requirements, was named “European Law Firm of the Year – Transactions” at the 2020 Global Derivatives Awards and “US Law Firm of the Year – Transactions” at the 2020 American Derivatives Awards, which were both hosted by GlobalCapital.
