The annual Mayer Brown/Concurrences conference on competition inspections took place on 19 March 2024, in partnership with FTI Consulting for this edition.

After an overview of the year’s latest developments, the first panel discussed informant protection and the consequences on investigations with Philippe Chauve from the European Commission, Stanislas Martin from the French Competition Authority, Sean McNabb from the CMA and was moderated by Nathalie Jalabert-Doury.

The second panel was devoted to the evolution of the European Commission’s antitrust powers including Regulation 1/2003, FSR, DMA/DSA with contributions from Damien Gerard from the Belgian Competition Authority, Gabriel Lluch from Orange, Ariane Oesterreicher from Veolia, Daniel Vowden and was moderated by Professor David Bosco from Aix-Marseille University.

A third panel was dedicated to extending legal privilege and whether it is time to rethink Akzo. This panel brought together Pascal Berghe from the European Commission, Laila Medina from the European Court of Justice, Nicolas Pourbaix from Amgen and was moderated by Aymeric de Moncuit. 

In the last panel attendees were given a practical demonstration of information retrieval software by Thomas Sely and Hawa Dia from FTI Consulting.
