Thomas C. Santora is a partner in Mayer Brown's Chicago office and a member of the Corporate & Securities practice. He is also a member of the firm’s Projects and Infrastructure industry group and Agriculture, Food and Beverage industry group.
A significant portion of Thomas’ practice includes the representation of private equity, independent sponsor, institutional investor and private credit clients in a variety of strategic transactions.
Thomas’ practice is enhanced by his business background. Prior to his legal career, Thomas worked for several years as a financial analyst and accountant for a company specializing in the development, manufacture and marketing of fitness equipment.

TRANSACTIONS BY CLIENT TYPE
- Approximately 100 engagements by private equity clients in connection with portfolio company acquisitions, divestments, add-ons, joint ventures, restructuring, governance and other similar transactions.
- Approximately 75 engagements by institutional investor clients in connection with minority co-investments in private equity sponsor-controlled entities.
- Approximately 25 engagements by public companies and other strategic clients in connection with acquisitions, divestments, add-ons, joint ventures, restructuring, governance and other similar transactions.
- Approximately 15 engagements by independent sponsor clients in connection with single-asset platform acquisitions, divestments, add-ons, joint ventures, restructuring, governance and other similar transactions.
- Approximately 10 engagements by private credit clients in connection with “take-the-keys” and other capital solution transactions, and the implementation of independent directors and special committees at private equity sponsor-controlled entities.
