Mayer Brown partner Marcus Christian named to Cybersecurity Docket’s 2021 “Incident Response 40”

Mayer Brown announced that Cybersecurity & Data Privacy partner Marcus Christian (Washington DC) has been selected to Cybersecurity Docket’s 2021 “Incident Response 40,” a list recognizing 40 of the “best data breach response lawyers in the business.” Mr. Christian was also named to the “Incident Response 30” list in 2016, 2018 and 2019.

Mr. Christian represents clients in matters involving data security planning, board governance of cybersecurity, cyber fraud, data breach response, and government investigations, among others. Mr. Christian is also a co-leader of the Washington DC Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice and a member of the White Collar Defense & Compliance group.

Before joining the firm, he served as the executive assistant US attorney in the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. In that capacity, he worked on the executive management team with responsibility for the criminal, civil, appellate, asset forfeiture and administrative divisions. Among other responsibilities, he oversaw a number of identity theft task forces, maintained critical incident response readiness, and supervised investigations and prosecutions of crimes related to data breaches.

Cybersecurity Docket is a comprehensive and timely source of online news and commentary on the exploding fields of cybersecurity, data breach and incident response. Selection for the 2021 list was based on research, nominations and input from numerous senior lawyers and other professionals in the field.
