Andrew Pendleton leads Mayer Brown’s English‑law project finance practice across EMEA and APAC, operating within the firm’s Global Energy team. 

Known as one of the world's leading project finance lawyers, Andrew focuses on complex, multi source project and acquisition financings, and restructurings in the energy space. He is a trusted adviser to sponsors, agency lenders and commercial banks across the LNG, other oil and gas, mining and metals, energy transition and conventional power sectors. 

Andrew has served as lead counsel on numerous award-winning transactions, as summarized below.

Experiencia

Andrew advises the agency lenders and the commercial banks in relation to the project financing of the TotalEnergie’s Yemen LNG project.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Andrew advised: 

  • the lenders in relation to the US$10 billion project financing for the PRefChem Project (RAPID / Marigold) in Malaysia (PFI’s “Petrochemicals Deal of the Year” 2019).
  • the US$2 billion project financing (including the first UK Restructuring Plan for a Project Financing) in relation to the Ambatovy nickel and cobalt project in Madagascar (previously, IJGlobal’s “Africa Refinancing Deal of the Year” 2021).
  • the sponsors in relation to the development of the Papua LNG Project.
  • the lenders in relation to the potential project financing for the US$5 billion Reko Diq copper and gold project in Pakistan.
