Rio Kamei

Rio Kamei primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and private equity transactions for multinational corporations in a broad range of industries. He also counsels clients on asset management, formation and investments into private investment funds and general corporate matters. Being bilingual in both Japanese and English, Rio regularly works with clients based in Japan. He was previously an associate of the firm’s Tokyo office.

• Advised a Japanese life insurer on the acquisition of a US/Bermuda based insurance company.
• Advised a Japanese manufacturer in the carve out and sale of a business unit to a US based global manufacturer.
• Advised the private equity fund of a Japanese financial institution in relation to numerous venture capital investments.
• Advised a Japanese governmental finance company in relation to numerous fund investments.
• Advised a Japanese private equity fund on numerous investments in co-investment funds.
