Mayer Brown is proud to announce the release of the sixth edition of its Technology & IP Transactions book titled, “Getting IP Right: Maximizing Deal Value in Technology & Outsourcing Transactions,” authored by lawyers from the firm’s technology-transactions, IP, litigation, and regulatory teams.

“This book is the sixth in our series, and each year we develop a theme for the chapters based on the challenges our clients face in the marketplace and the legal solutions we can provide,” said Richard Assmus, editor and leader of Mayer Brown’s Chicago IP practice. “As AI and other technologies continue to present new opportunities for value - and introduce new risks - we have chosen intellectual property as this year’s theme: the beating legal heart of technology transactions.”

This book examines technology transactions from various perspectives, including litigators and tax lawyers, on how deals can go wrong; trademark lawyers, on how brand partnerships can promote growth; and regulatory lawyers, on how the regulatory landscape for AI is evolving. Authors also examine special types of deals, including IP acquisitions, cross-border deals, deals for emerging technologies, and collaboration agreements for customer-facing technology.

For more than 30 years, Mayer Brown’s global Technology & IP Transactions practice has helped clients in negotiating, establishing, and contracting for significant partnerships related to critical services and technology. The practice includes more than 50 lawyers throughout the Americas, Asia, and Europe, leveraging the experience that comes with a substantive legacy to drive value for clients on thousands of technology and outsourcing transactions.
