In recent years, China’s top leaders have urged a whole-of-government push for strengthened IP protection at an almost unprecedented scale. As a result, China has recently ramped up criminal punishments for intellectual property rights (IPR) violations. This webinar is intended to introduce the latest amendment to China’s criminal law and judicial interpretation with respect to IPR infringement crimes and to discuss how to tackle IPR infringements in China by a combination of criminal and civil proceedings.
