Comparison of COVID-19 Economic Support Mechanisms

Share

As we continue to revise and update our Comparison of Economic Support Measures being introduced by governments around the world to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are starting to see some key trends emerge. In our most recent update, published today, we observe:

  • an increase in measures designed to protect those sectors particularly affected by the pandemic, such as aviation, tourism and agriculture;
  • moves to provide enhanced support for SMEs, start-ups and for research, particularly research in respect of COVID-19;
  • an expectation there will be amendments and changes to existing insolvency regimes. (For example, the UK is likely to pass legislation in this vein shortly).
