As we continue to revise and update our Comparison of Economic Support Measures being introduced by governments around the world to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are starting to see some key trends emerge. In our most recent update, published today, we observe:
- an increase in measures designed to protect those sectors particularly affected by the pandemic, such as aviation, tourism and agriculture;
- moves to provide enhanced support for SMEs, start-ups and for research, particularly research in respect of COVID-19;
- an expectation there will be amendments and changes to existing insolvency regimes. (For example, the UK is likely to pass legislation in this vein shortly).
