Takako Shigetomi

Takako gained experience working at another leading US law firm, and prior to starting her legal career, she also worked for a Japanese web services provider and a multinational entertainment corporation.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Takako advised:

• LINE Corporation in connection with its business integration with Z Holdings Corporation, which involved among other steps a joint tender offer by SoftBank Co., Ltd. and NAVER Corporation to acquire all of LINE's outstanding common stock (including American Depositary Shares), stock options and convertible bonds. 
• Toyota Motor Corporation in a $1.5 billion SEC-registered offering of sustainability bonds (2025). 
• Toyota Motor Corporation in a $1.5 billion SEC-registered offering of sustainability bonds (2023). 
• Various Japanese companies on preparing and filing Form CB in connection with share transfers and share exchanges. 
• A Japanese gas company on its acquisition of equity interests in a $1.3 billion power generation facility in the United States. 
• A Japanese chemical company on its acquisition of a Taiwanese semiconductor technology company and its US subsidiary. 
• A Philippine telecommunications company on its joint venture with a global investment firm to establish telecom tower platforms in Southeast Asia.
