Overview
Richard Sheard is an associate in the Corporate & Securities practice of the Paris office.
Richard focuses on mergers and acquisitions in the context of leveraged buy-out transactions in several industrial and financial sectors. He advises French and foreign private equity funds as well as industrial groups and managers, on their sales and acquisitions, joint ventures and restructuring transactions.
Prior to moving to Paris, Richard trained in the London office of Mayer Brown, joining in 2017 as a trainee and completed international secondments in the Frankfurt (Banking & Finance) and Paris (Corporate & Securities) offices.
Richard is fluent in English and French.
Experience
- Advised Oaktree Capital Management L.P. and Bpifrance in connection with an agreement with the consortium led by Vesper Next Generation Infrastructure Fund I SCSp and Infracapital for the acquisition of SAF Aerogroup, a European leader in emergency air transport
- Advised ICG on the acquisition of a stake in Oak Nation, a specialist in high-end cooperage for wines and spirits
- Advised the shareholders of AS Saint-Étienne on the sale of the club to Canadian group Kilmer Sports Ventures
- Advised Pernod Ricard on the sale of Clan Campbell whisky to Stock Spirits Group
- Advised Pernod Ricard on the acquisition of The Whisky Exchange, a leading online spirits retailer
- Advised Bridgepoint Development Capital on the merger of its portfolio company, Private Sport Shop, with SportPursuit Limited, a UK-based e-commerce sports products company backed by bd-capital
- Advised Marlin Equity Partners on its investment in Lengow Group, an e-commerce automation platform
