Irfan Siddiqui is counsel in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office and a member of the Banking & Finance practice. Irfan has extensive experience advising investment banks, direct lenders, private equity and financial sponsors, hedge funds, commercial banks, insurance companies, and private and public companies in structuring, negotiating, documenting and administering financial transactions.
Irfan’s practice involves leveraged and syndicated finance, term loan facilities, and letter of credit facilities. Irfan has represented clients with cash flow and asset-based financings, bridge, underwritten and best efforts executions, senior secured and senior unsecured debt, first-lien, second-lien and crossing lien facilities, mortgage warehousing facilities, energy, oil and gas and public utility financings and multicurrency and cross-border facilities, each across a wide range of credit and financial markets, ranging from investment grade and large corporate, to upper, middle and lower middle market.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, in addition to previous private practice experience, Irfan was a Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at a large bank covering both the commercial bank and the investment bank, including advising the bank in debt financing and mergers and acquisitions transactions. Irfan also gained experience with derivatives and securities lending transactions, including drafting and negotiating such transactions on behalf of the investment bank.
