Matt O'Meara is a member of the Banking & Finance practice and serves as co-head of Mayer Brown’s global Lending practice and head of the global Private Credit group. Matt has more than 20 years of experience representing clients in complex debt financing transactions with a focus on domestic and cross-border acquisition finance. He regularly advises clients such as asset managers, banks, finance companies, business development companies, private credit funds, institutional investors, and issuers in structuring, negotiating, and documenting senior and senior-stretch loans, second lien loans, mezzanine financing, unitranche and private equity investments. In addition, he has extensive experience advising creditors on debt restructurings and out-of-court workout matters including restructuring support agreements, debt-for-equity exchanges and Article 9 remedies.
