Overview
Multinational clients turn to Sonal Majmudar for practical advice and effective advocacy on their most complex transfer pricing and tax controversy matters. Sonal draws on more than a decade of negotiating complex cases with tax authorities across Europe, North America and Asia, and from advising tax administrations worldwide at the World Bank. Her experience spans industries including banking and financial services, life sciences, technology, energy, and consumer products, and is further distinguished by her background in customs law.
Sonal is one of very few transfer pricing lawyers in the United States who has practiced both customs and tax law, in government at US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), as well as in private practice. She helps clients develop coordinated transfer pricing and customs valuation strategies (e.g., “First Sale” rule) across the supply chain while managing compliance risk under both the customs and tax regimes.
